Flawed System

Before Thursday I had heard of prison labor, but never really realized the severity of it. What I got out of that discussion is that these prisoners are being completely exploited, society is essential giving up on them and really putting them in a bad situation. The high re-incarceration rate proves that the system we currently have for "criminals" is not working. The heads of these prisons and giant corporations that exploit the prisoners for labor know this, but they are not going to change it because it is too profitable for them. The problem will be hard to fix because these corporate owners have to much wealth and power to be pushed around.
