Big Boss

After watching undercover boss, I couldn't help but think what bosses were like back in the early years of big business. In the show were we suppose to sympathize with the boss, and eventually be impressed that he gave back to a few workers. Sure that is nice, but there are thousands of workers in the company that do not get gifts. In the times before labor unions and work place requirements, I'm sure bosses were even worse. Instead of giving back the even a few employees, they did whatever it took to reduce all of their salaries and make things miserable for them. And while today bosses are still trying to cut costs at every corner, back then it was far, far worse. Despite the fact that we know these bosses are still concerned with only making money, they still do a lot more for their employees now than in the past. But is it because they are forced to by law, or because they are truly respecting their workers?
