Peer pressure

Peer Pressure is usually treated as a bad thing among young children,  but is it not peer pressure that holds society itself together.  For instance, a common argument against peer pressure is that it encourages drug use.   This statement assumes that as soon as one kid starts using drugs, more and more will follow.  Discounting drug laws and anti-drug programs that help prevent both the first kid and the rest from using,  this argument is illogical in that a majority of non-drug using kids follow the will of the minority drug users, contradicting the idea of majority rule.
