post on "Reel Injun"

This reminds me of most of the other films and topics we have discsussed previously in class. Whenever a people is in the way of another (whether it be for trying to aquire their land, possesions, money...or getting in the way of somone and their goals) that person/peoples are always painted in a bad light. Things that have no basis in reality (for example-that all Native Americans are wild, reckless, uncivilized people who will attack at will) are brought about and publicized to benefit the cause of the people who are trying to gain something. Of course Native Americans/Indigenous Peoples were portrayed in obviously ridiculous ways because they were the only real thing standing in the way of the "white man" getting exactly what he wanted...their land.
