Unemployment Numbers
I just wanted to take a few seconds to share some unemployment numbers I saw in my Economics class. The unemployment rate is determined by figuring the number of people actively, but unsuccessfully, looking for a job and dividing it by the total labor force. Through these statistics, it is shown that, by comparing black and white males, blacks have an 8.1% higher unemployment rate. When comparing black and white females, blacks have a 6.4% higher rate of unemployment. When comparing numbers between males and females, females actually have lower unemployment rates. Just thought I take some time to share that with you all.
