"Reel Injun" Reservation Images

People seem to be commenting on how horrible reservations are because of the ones they showed in the film. They made a point of saying that the reservation they were showing was one of the poorest in the country. The town I grew up in sits right next to an Indian reservation, Native Americans went to my school and the district even offered the language to anyone who wanted to take it. My point here is that the Native Americans are among the richest in the town. The reservation is well kept, most people on the reservation drive very nice cars and have modest houses. Their volunteer fire department, for example, is the most well equipped in the area. I understand that this isn't the case everywhere but people shouldn't think that every reservation is poor and downtrodden, or that all Native Americans are living in bad conditions. This is not the case.
