I agree with John Turdell. If Hollywood continues to make Native Americans look foolish, savages, and bad a fighting people will not look at them individually and only look at them all as the same thing, a person whose skin is red and different from ours. These representations make every single Indigenous nation look like every other Indigenous nation. Soon people will think every Native American is just one big nation.
The audience in the western movies are white people who want to fight like cowboys and Indians. This camp is the place for those boys. The purpose is for the kids to think that they are learning actual Native American traditions, customs and culture, but they are actually just screaming and acting like buffoons. This could be harmful in two ways. Some kid could hurt themself, and it is harmful to actual Native Americans because it makes all of their customs look stupid. The counselor knew nothing about the natives. He just wanted to have a camp for kids to scream pound the tables.
