I saw this a little while ago while watching tv.In the video, the mother talks about how her little boy wanted to be a princess for Halloween and she at first said no. After her oldest son said "Mom, why can't you just let him be happy?" she then said yes.
This really got to me. So many people are afraid of boys not being boys or girls not being girls. Just let people be happy! Her son is happy and healthy and thats all that should matter. This mother is amazing!
wow... that video was really interesting. I know a lot of mothers in her place would have acted differently. It must be hard because mothers want their children to do what makes them happy. However, (and unfortunately) being "a princess boy" could really cause heartache and teasing for the boy in a public setting. Deciding whether to allow the pleasing of her son, or the pleasing of society for his sake must have been a very hard decision.
ReplyDeleteawww this just made me sad :( i give this mother a lot of credit because if i were in her shoes im not sure what i would do. i would never want my children (when i have them) to be made fun of and i feel like this would totally do that to him.
